NamNam Natura Obstwaldsystem
Sun-ripened. Regional. Authentic. Sustainable food from permaculture!
Nut cultivation. Chestnut cultivation. Fruit cultivation. Herb cultivation. Beekeeping. Arts and crafts.
We produce and market well-known, widely spread as well as new, rather unknown, fruit and fruit rarities, nuts, mushrooms, and herbs. Our cultivation method is not only environmentally friendly but also environmentally regenerative, as we develop the cultivation area into a valuable habitat through our special orchard forest system, which promotes all landscape functions. We work according to the principles of permaculture. We want to provide the world with further proof that another type of land management is possible, and that nature conservation and agriculture do not exclude each other in permaculture and agroforestry systems. By producing biochar for fertilization and soil development, we produce CO2–neutral. For our cultivation system, we take nature as a model. When you look at it, you always see mixed crops that gradually develop into forests. That is why we produce our food in an orchard forest system. For the initial planting, we cooperated with local nurseries and farmers and selected regional fruit types and varieties. When choosing the types of fruit, it was important to us to offer a large selection, so in addition to classic types like apple, pear, cherry, raspberry, and currant, we also grow rarer types such as Nashi or Tartar pears, figs, Kamchatka berries, loganberries, and kiwi berries, as well as many other foods. To achieve a stable mixed culture, we planted the fruit bushes to the south under the fruit trees, chestnut trees grow above the fruit trees, and in the shade of the plants we cultivate edible mushrooms on wood. On the ground between the trunks we have various herbs, plants for making tea, and cover crops.
