Sababurg 8, 34369 Hofgeismar, Hessen

The area is located between the towns of Trendelburg and Stammen on a gently sloping southeast hillside by the Diemel. The site is characterized by loess loams and alluvial loams of the small river "Diemel." So far, the area has been used as a mown meadow and horse pasture. New plantings of 12 chestnut trees, 25 walnut trees, and 13 pecan trees were carried out in 2021 and 2022 in rows with substantial individual protection against grazing. An existing row of 8 fruit trees aged 15 already existed on the site. The goal is to test its suitability for cultivation in the northern Hessian uplands.
