Landwirtschaftsbetrieb Johannishöhe
Dresdner Str. 13a, 01737 Tharandt, SachsenAt the end of May 2024, 3,500 poplars and some pollard willows were planted on the church field in Grumbach near Dresden (arable land approx. 6.7 ha, of which wooded area approx. 1 ha). The poplar strips are used for timber production for the company's own heating system. Together with the planting of a hedge, the wood structures are intended mainly to slow down the wind and reduce wind erosion. They also provide shade for the arable crops between the trees and on the neighboring plots, and lower the temperature on hot summer days.
