Lossaer Str. 32, 04808 Thallwitz OT Böhlitz, Sachsen

A total of 26,110 poplars of six different varieties and 3,029 hardwood trees were planted on an area of 16 hectares, divided into 10 strips of woodland, each 18 meters wide. The hardwood trees planted were wild cherry, English oak, sessile oak, service tree, sweet chestnut, tree hazel, small-leaved lime, Norway maple, and walnut. These are always arranged in the middle of each of the five rows of trees in the strip. The distance between the tree strips is 60 m.

The project was developed in cooperation between the Agrargenossenschaft e. G. Böhlitz agricultural cooperative, the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), and Wurzener Land-Werke GmbH.

Implementation as a demonstration and research site as part of the “AGROfloW” project (funded by the BMEL) with funds from the LIFE-IP project ZENAPA.

AGROfloW is funded by the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR) under the “Sustainable Renewable Resources” funding program.

The project partner is the Water Research Group of the Institute for Technology Transfer at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (FITT).
