In December 2022, 70 walnut trees were planted on about 2 hectares of land in 20-meter rows with 3-meter-wide shrub strips, combined with crop strips. The system serves climate adaptation by providing protection against storms and heat, improved COâ‚‚ sequestration, humus formation, and erosion control. In the future, direct marketing of the walnuts together with the meat of the St. Viter local pig is planned.
