We planted the agroforestry area in spring 2023. In doing so, the previously intensively used grassland was enriched with two tree strips. The planting consists of approximately 220 poplars, composed of three different poplar varieties. At intervals of about 20 meters, various valuable tree species are planted between the poplars. These valuable trees—such as sour cherry, service tree, and rowan—contribute significantly to wildlife foraging and also increase the biodiversity of the project area. The grassland between the tree strips is currently grazed by ponies and is therefore managed extensively. With a planned rotation period of about eight to ten years, the poplars will be harvested in sections. The resulting wood is primarily intended for energy use. A special feature of this project is that it is being carried out by us as private individuals.
